We believe in the importance of fostering meaningful connections. With our online webinars, we not only overcome social isolation but also overcome physical distances. Bringing our volunteers and seniors, bringing our generations together.
At Stitching Generations Together, we recognized the digital challenges faced by elderly individuals, and came up with our interactive digital webinars program. Our webinars are not just to educate and entertain but also give a platform where our volunteers and senior citizens can engage in live time, making a positive impact within our community.
We offer a diverse range of activities such as crafting techniques, storytelling, guest speakers, and online gaming. With this inclusive program we instill:
Companionship, reducing social isolation amongst the older generation.
Our volunteers can contribute meaningfully to their community by just sharing their own talents and skills.
Intergenerational appreciation of the other generation.
Supportive environment where everyone regardless of age, gender, status can be valued
A platform for personal growth and learning for both generations alike.
Learn and share crafting techniques with seniors; crocheting, painting, drawing, jewelry making, origami, scrapbooking
More or less a gossip session. Sharing appropriate stories — from both generations. We encourage seniors to share stories from their own lives, memorable experiences, family traditions, significant events. With this we promote empathy, build confidence in elderly individuals by making them feel valued and appreciated, and enhance communication skills for everyone included.
Our guest speakers talking in our webinars will provide knowledge that appeals both generations. More information available soon.
Hosting trivia, virtual cards, Kahoot, riddle solving, playing Roblox, etc. These engaging and entertaining games based on participants interests.
Showcasing your talent and skills digital such as: singing, playing an instrument, dancing, stand-up comedy, magic tricks, showing off an interesting collection, doing a haul, etc.
Register to be a volunteer below and we'll reach out within a week with a detailed guide of the digital webinars, including dates and instructions. It's not mandatory to show up for all of the webinars, but the more of them you go to the more service hours you receive.
If wanting to host a timeslot during our webinars where you can lead an activity (showcase a talent, story-tell, demonstrating a craft, etc...) apply below to request, and if accepted we'll reach out to you with the necessary information. Both volunteers and seniors can host a timeslot.
